1.     Initial contact, at which time we schedule a viewing of your woods.

 

2.     We conduct a walk-through assessment of the woods, preferably with the landowner(s). At this time we determine whether you, the landowner(s), have a woods that contains trees which could be marketed.

 

3.     The landowner(s) is provided with all the information and time necessary to render a decision about the use of our services.

 

4.     If the landowner(s) elects to use our services a “Consulting Contract” is signed between the landowner(s) and ourselves.

 

5.     We inventory the woods and mark the trees for removal based on the landowners short-term and long-term objectives and goals for the forest.

 

6.     We send bid prospectuses that include notification and terms of the sale, a general description of the timber, inventory sheets, and all pertinent maps to the regions top timber companies.

 

7.     We hold a bid opening at a specified date and time at our office. The landowner(s) and bidders are not required to attend.

 

8.     Within two weeks of the bid opening a “Timber Sale Contract” is signed between the landowner(s) and the timber company awarded the bid. The timber company pays part (usually 25% to 50%, depending on the sale size) of the accepted bid amount at this time.

 

9.  The landowner(s) receives the balance of their payment prior to the timber company removing the first tree.

 

10. We oversee the timber harvest to ensure compliance to the Timber Sale Contract.
